Wintertime in Lipno
Lipno is the only place in the Czech Republic that is a significant summer as well as winter destination. In the winter, you can enjoy skiing in Lipno, but also skating, cross-country skiing as well as the beautiful views of the frozen dam surrounded by Šumava’s landscape, which you can appreciate from the Treetop Walkway.
Skating track
The Lipno Ice Trail is one of the longest skating natural tracks in Europe. That is why you should not pass up the opportunity to visit this unique attraction in Lipno. The track connects three towns – Lipno nad Vltavou, Frymburk and Přední Výtoň. There is nothing easier than to get on the ice close to the hotel and to enjoy yourself on the frozen surface of the dam.
Cross-country skiing
There is no lack of machine-groomed cross-country skiing trails in Lipno and the surrounding area. There are up to 40 kilometres of trails, and in case enthusiastic skiers would not be satisfied, we can recommend trails on the Austrian side of Šumava in Schöneben, located less than 40 minutes away from the Hotel Albatros.
